News Alert – San Diego – STAT Media Productions was recently commissioned by the Trauma Research and Education Foundation (TREF) and San Diego's six trauma centers to produce a half hour video broadcast program to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the San Diego County Trauma System.

"The Truth About Trauma" shows the dedication of the physicians, nurses, and specialists who provide trauma care for citizens of San Diego County. Host and narrator Carol LeBeau has the inspiring stories of six trauma patients and looks back at the history of the system, explains how the trauma system works and examines trauma prevention tips. The program also includes news footage of trauma events as well as mass casualties incidents, which have occurred in San Diego in the past 25 years.

Since the inception of the San Diego County Trauma System in 1984, more than 150,000 people have received life-saving trauma care.
