Carol Lebeau

Over her 28 year career at KGTV, every weeknight Carol reported on medical breakthroughs, new technologies and exercise and nutrition tips in her popular “Staying Healthy” feature. As she puts it, “Along with hard news stories, I like to help people keep life in the proper perspective with ‘good’ news stories.” That focus and attitude will now continue in the community and here on Carol's new multi-media website.

A #1 news anchor in Southern California for more than 25 years, Carol covered some of the nation’s most important stories. She's a winner of numerous awards for her work and is a popular speaker and emcee at women's events and health symposiums/conferences. Now that she has left the day-to-day television news anchoring job, Carol will bring her solid credentials, wide ranging knowledge and engaging personality to new projects and personal appearances. She will also expand her ministry work in San Diego and across America.

The Truth About Trauma

STAT MediaNews Alert – San Diego – STAT Media Productions was recently commissioned by the Trauma Research and Education Foundation (TREF) and San Diego’s six trauma centers to produce a half hour video broadcast program to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the San Diego County Trauma System.

“The Truth About Trauma” shows the dedication of the physicians, nurses, and specialists who provide trauma care for citizens of San Diego County. Host and narrator Carol LeBeau has the inspiring stories of six trauma patients and looks back at the history of the system, explains how the trauma system works and examines trauma prevention tips. The program also includes news footage of trauma events as well as mass casualties incidents, which have occurred in San Diego in the past 25 years.

Since the inception of the San Diego County Trauma System in 1984, more than 150,000 people have received life-saving trauma care.

What People Are Saying

From the 10NEWS press release on April 2, 2009: "After 28 years of covering major news stories across San Diego, veteran anchor Carol LeBeau announced today her plan to retire from television news. “Channel 10 has always been committed to the community of San Diego, and I feel honored to be a part of it,” LeBeau said. “Being welcomed into so many people’s homes each night has been truly gratifying.” “Carol is an institution in San Diego news,” remarked KGTV Vice President and General Manager Jeffrey Block. “Many viewers grew up with her, watching her deliver the news in her confident and compassionate way.” It is hard to imagine that nearly three decades ago, LeBeau was nervous about coming to California."

While leaving the daily TV routine, Carol is not "retiring" from life. On her new website, she'll share new information about healthy living and will be making more personal appearances at special events in Southern California and across the country.
