Mark Larson

He is
heard LIVE on KRLA 870AM Los Angeles, KCBQ 1170AM San Diego and
KRLH 590AM in San Bernardino and the Inland Empire. His morning
radio talkshow airs from 6 to 9 AM weekdays. It is also heard 24/7
on www.marklarsonchannel.com.
In August
2002, Salem Communications Corporation asked Mark to host the new
Southern California network morning talkshow. Prior to that, he
served for over eight years as General Manager of Salem's KCBQ and
KPRZ in San Diego. He continues as management and programming
consultant for the stations.
He is also
President of the San Diego Radio Broadcasters Association, serving
his sixth consecutive term.
Mark is a
frequent guest host on the nationally syndicated
Michael Medved Show, heard on
over 150 stations including KCBQ and KRLA. Mark has also
occasionally filled in for
Dennis Prager and
Hugh Hewitt on their network
radio programs.
In 2001,
the Achievement In Radio Awards chose him as San Diego's
"Best Talk Show" host.
Mark
joined KPRZ in 1994, after eighteen years with KFMB (CBS) Radio in
San Diego, where he was Program and Operations Manager. He also
served as National Program Director/Radio for KFMB’s parent
company and was a popular afternoon personality at the station.
Active in
a variety of charitable organizations, Mark is Chairman of
Media Fellowship International. He is a founding board member and
Chairman of the Family Heritage Foundation. Mark also serves on
the Global Leadership Council and National Board of Directors for
Heart to Heart International, is a Board of Trustees member of
the Arts Center Foundation and a charter member of the
Salem Communications Political Action Committee.
A member
of Shadow Mountain Community Church, he appears regularly with his
pastor, Dr. David Jeremiah, on
Turning Point. The
program is heard every weekday on over 1,500 radio outlets
worldwide. He's also heard on the new nationally televised
broadcast of
Turning Point.
In 2000,
Mark completed nearly five years as a columnist for The Daily
Californian. A new book is now in the works.
Mark
also owns and operates Mark
Larson Media Services, Inc., his programming, production and
consulting company which includes the new ML Speakers Group. He is a
sought-after advertising spokesman for many regional and national
clients. Mark is often selected for speaking and emcee
engagements. Assignments have included emceeing many political
events and several related to the San Diego GOP National
Convention. He was chosen by the Reagan White House to help
organize and emcee two major rallies in Southern California. For
ten years, he was part owner of two Salt Lake City radio stations.
Television
credits include having hosted an Emmy Award-winning weekly
entertainment show in San Diego. He was also host of nationally
telecast events from Washington, DC on the NET and
America’s Voice networks.
In 1995,
the City Club and San Diego Jaycees named him “Citizen of the
Year” for his ongoing service to the community. In 2002, he
received the “Salute To American Heroes Award” from Rep. Duncan
Hunter, Chairman of the U.S. House Armed Services
Committee. Mark is listed in Who’s Who In
America and Who’s Who in the Media and
Communications.
A proud
father of three, he has been happily married to Marcia for 27
years.
